What to Expect

Your First Visit

We are always excited about meeting new patients during their first visit to our office. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This important 60-minute visit will give us insights into your orthodontic needs. We may need to schedule a second exam for diagnostic records (X-rays, photos and impressions for study models). This additional appointment will last approximately 30 minutes and is necessary for developing an appropriate treatment plan.

On your first visit, our objective is to determine the long-term needs for you and/or your child. At this visit, one of three outcomes is determined:

  • Treatment is needed now.
  • Treatment is not needed.
  • Treatment is needed, but the timing is such that it should be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors are monitored and reconciled.

You will then have the opportunity to discuss treatment options, time frames and financial arrangements with Dr. Bennett and his staff. We insist that our patients leave the office with a clear understanding of their specific needs, what the treatment will consist of and how long it will take. We encourage you to ask questions, and we are always available to talk with you and address any concerns that you may have.
